Starting up the hydraulic power unit

CAUTION: At first start-up on a new site., check the rotation of electric motor, clockwise.

  1. Connect the electricity supply cable.
  2. Connect a water supply hose  at water intake (8a).
  3. Turn on the main switch (9a).
  4. Check that the emergency stop button is set to operation mode (9c).
  5. Start the electric motor by pushing the start/stop button (9b).

Stopping the hydraulic power unit

  1. Set all On/Off valves for the mixer, agitator and pump to the Off position.
  2. Close the main water intake ball valve (8a)
  3. Stop the electric motor by pushing the Start/Stop button (9b).
  4. Turn of the main switch (9a).

NOTE: Always add the components in the following order: Water – additives – cement – P. F. A. (Pulverised fly/fuel ash) – sand.

Starting the Agitator

Start the agitator motor by turning the on/off lever (3b, Fig 4).

Starting the Mixer 

  1. Open the valve on the water meter (8, fig. 2) and fill up the mixer container with a predetermined volume of water.
  2. Check that the lever on the circulation and outlet valve (2b, fig 5) is in the mixing position.
  3. Start the mixer motor by turning on/off the lever (2d, fig 4).
  4. Open the cement bags against the bag splitter (2a, fig 5) and add the correct amount of cement to the mixer container.
  5. Let the mixer run until the grout is well mixed and then put the lever into pump out position and pump the grout into the agitator.

Starting the Pump  

  1. Check that the grout flow regulating valve (4c, fig. 2) is closed (turn clockwise) and that the pressure setting valve (4a High, 4b Low, depending on pressure setting, see fig 2) is fully open (turn anticlockwise).
  2. Start the grout pump motor by turning the on/off lever on the hydraulic control unit (9, fig. 4)
  3. Close the groutline valve (4g, fig. 2).
  4. Open the recirculation line valve (4h, fig. 2).
  5. Open the flow regulating valve (4c, fig. 2) slightly, if necessary turn the pressure setting valve (4a “High”, 4b “Low”, depending on pressure setting fig 2) until the pump starts to move – look at the piston rods.
  6. Let the pump make a few pump strokes to get rid of any air in the grout pump cylinder.
  7. When grout starts to flow back into the agitator, close the recirculating line valve (4h, fig. 2).

Pump Low Pressure Setting

  1. Set the On/Of valve (4d) lever to the “High Pressure” position.
  2. Set the high pressure to 12-15 bar, according to Presetting of maximum grout-pressure.
  3. Set On/Of valve (4d) lever to the “Low Pressure” position.
  4. Desired grout pressure can now be set by turning the knob on the pressure setting valve (4b) from 0 up to 12-15 bar in high pressure mode. Be aware that pressure under 1-2 bar is not practical because of the internal friction in the grout pump cylinder. When running the pump in low-pressure mode, the maximum flow capacity will be reduced according to the low-pressure level.

Cleaning procedure


  1. Fill the container with water and put the lever on the circulation and outlet valve (2b) in the  mixing position. Start the motor and let the mixer run for a few minutes.
  2. Disconnect the mixer house (5) and pump out the water by switching the lever to pump out position.
  3. Stop the hydraulic motor and open the drain plug, located at the bottom of the mixer house and drain remaining water. 

Agitator and Pump

  1. Fill the agitator, close the grout line valve (4g) and open the recirculation valve (4h).
  2. Start the grout pump and the agitator, and adjust the grout pump to maximum flow using the groutflow regulating valve (4c). The water will now circulate at a high flow rate through the pump, the recirculating hose and back into the agitator. Continue for a few minutes and then open the valve (4g) and pump out water.
  3. Repeat the procedure until the pump, agitator and hoses are clean.
  4. Switch off the pump and agitator.
  5. Disconnect the mixer hose (5) to drain the pump inlet and agitator.
  6. Wash the equipment to keep it clean.
